First lets get a complete quote... "All vehicles scoring a total overall score of two hundred and eighty (280) points or above in their respective class (except Daily Driver) at a national convention car show will be re-judged to determine if the vehicle might qualify for Gold Medallion or Gold Cup status (290 or above points). All vehicles scoring a total overall score of two hundred and ninety (290) points or above in their respective class (except Daily Driver) are eligible to receive the Gold Medallion or Gold Cup achievement award of excellence for their efforts." To clairfy *my understanding* All cars entered into the show are judged and judging sheets filled out. I believe it is THIS sheet that you have received. Any car this scores over 280 is then re-judged for the Gold Medallion or Gold Cup. The old scores are thrown out, and I believe new judges are selected (head judges, to my understanding). The Gold Medallion & Gold Cup judging is more strict and the most stringent judging that the ZCCA performs. If your car scores 290 or more in that round, you are eligible to recieve the Gold Medallion / Gold Cup. It sounds to me like you did not score 290 or more in the second round of judging. I'm friends with Fred Buoni, the head of the ZCCA judging, if you'd like to discuss with him I'd be happy to facilitate that conversation.
