An email response from Haltech, makes perfect sense:

Hello Don,

Thanks for your email and for your interest in Haltech Engine management systems. I’ll do my best to explain and answer your question.

The Racelogic system works by connecting to the individual ABS wheel speed sensors. When a differential speed is detected between the Front and Rears the Racelogic box cuts fuel injection pulses to reduce power.

The Haltech Z32 Pro ECU is a Plug and Play ECU, that connects to the OEM wiring harness in place of the OEM ECU. As such, it only has access to whatever wires/signals are present in the OEM ECU wiring harness on the OEM ECU pinout. The OEM ECU receives a VSS speed signal on pin 53, however the individual ABS wheel speed sensors do not connect to the OEM ECU, therefore the Haltech ECU cannot initiate any traction control based on wheel speed differential, as it does not receive the signals required to do so.

Now, having said that, it is entirely possible to connect Front and Rear wheel speed sensors to the Pro Z32 ECU, and then configure Ignition, & Boost correction tables (Ignition, & Boost are the most effective) to affect the power output of the engine based on a Front vs. Rear Wheel speed differential. Doing this will require an Haltech I/O12 Input/Output expander connected to the Front and Rear Wheel Speed Sensors.

There is a long list of additonal benefits of using a Haltech Pro Z32 ECU over a chip-tuned OEM ECU or and other competitive Plug and Play aftermarket ECU option for the Z32, and I’m happy to details those benefits if you’re still
interested.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

Thanks,
Eric Gash
