The issue is in the installation, not the gears themselves. It's hit or miss if you're lucky enough to have them not whine. I have a NA rear end and I still say it's the way to go. Piece of mind not having steering linkages, less overall parts and weight, no more hicas, and NA rear-ends are easy to come across. Flip side is you get smaller diameter half shafts and a "weaker" differential. If you don't intend to drag race often, then it shouldn't be an issue. For the money, the 4.08's in the NA differential are close enough and cheaper, especially if you add in the likely possibility of having annoying gear whine and having to deal with that.
