Message	1st gear became somewhat useless as it was too short. As for noise... Regular street driving was good and you wouldn't start to hear the whine until 40+mph. At 60, you could hear it but it wasn't to the point of annoying. At 70, well, lets just say that I hope you're driving with the windows down and tops off. It was very annoying unless I had my stereo up. 1993 TT. R.I.P. 09.15.2010
