of info about you (money now, money later, plans for the car, knowledge, mechanical ability, etc.) you will get a better answer.  The only clue you give is that you want a "collector car", so I say: spend the extra $ and get one with about 10 or 15 k miles on it, don't drive it much, and buy another car with more miles on it to drive and mod.  I would buy that car and mod it, because I think that if you're going to put money into a car, you ought to start with a low mileage one, and ... I wouldn't be looking for a collector.
