No matter how well I cover the lower plenum or blow out the spark plug guides with compressed air, I think there's a chance a little debris made it's way inside, I can't prove there was and I can't prove there wasn't, I would say it's impossible to answer this question with no or give a definitive size limit/ threshhold on what is the smallest particle that would cause engine damage, if I KNEW debris made it inside I would take the motor completely apart and find it and kill it, and it's family. If it helps you any- I once bought an R6 for very cheap, it had no air filter when I got it with 19,000 miles on it, it smoked like a 2 dollar whore. My current R6 has 37,000 (always with an air filter) the oil level is never lower than when change it (burns virtually no oil). Also alot of ITB setups are always run without an air filter.... alot of ITB setups are also rebuilt every race season :D
*disclaimer*: all that I say may be true or I may be completely wrong and I accept that.... please, it is your duty as another person on the internet to in-politely tell me how wrong I am :) "The dreaded 2nd windshiled wiper swipe when you turn it off its almost like tis showing you that it's boss, and it doesn't have to stop when you tell it to :("-College Boy (discussion on ptu relocation) "No good reason to put it there anyway. -Bernie (NoVA) False -vorpalZ False. -Bernie (NoVA) You're correct, there are 3 good reasons -vorpalZ False. -Bernie (NoVA) Wow, right again, just remembered another, make that 4 -vorpalZ" XD
