willing to spend $10k for turbo upgrades, engine builds, upgraded intake and exhaust piping, etc. But when it comes to engine management and tuning, they want to just run an off the shelf chip because of costing. Is it because, it's just not some sort of a tangible part that they can see gains from? Do you realize, that it's the tuning that will make your mods shine? As well, make your car safe to run at the limit and not blow up? The stand alone systems allow far greater safeties when running at the limit than the Nissan ECU will, even after you have it tuned. That's why I recommend going with the Haltech. Sure, it seems pricey, but by the time you add all the extra aftermarket boxes to give you as close to possible the feature set, you are not that far off on cost. If the Haltech pnp was out when I was building my car, that is the route I would have gone.
