| My Z is under the knife - has been for quite some time. I've had the Mazda for about 4-5 years now and it's the first battery I've put in it, so it was probably due. The belt was worn and had been squealing with each start since it got cold out. The shop said the alternator output was well below what it should be. Did one thing effect the other? Maybe. But they were all pretty much due for replacement at this point. I'm currently working on finishing up my garage and getting it heated while paying for it little by little. This is going to delay those efforts a bit. Had my garage been finished I would have just done all the repair at home and saved myself some money. I can't have any down time on the DD though.
