| I did not have it rebuilt nor did I rebuild it, I bought a slicktop and this tranny came in it, I also bought a rebuild kit with the intention of rebuilding a tranny. I proceeded to take this one apart and to my surprise, I had the convenient pleasure of finding the synchros in VERY similar condition to the ones I have in the rebuild kit. What makes me think it's rebuilt?..... the tranny currently installed in my Z had non-factory sealant (black and slightly too much because it was noticeably squeezed out) further... the case was painted red prior to my ownership lol. Also unfortunately someone stripped the lower starter mounting bolt hole... a work around fix was a longer bolt :/ I started the rebuild on a different tranny I have 2 months ago but am currently at a stopping point because the bulky generic gear puller I own is too large to fit between the main shaft and the counter shaft. I will resume my tranny rebuild after I get completely out of debt and buy the necessary tools here shortly and will hopefully be able to update everyone with my success :)....... or failure :( lol If I get some decent mileage on MY rebuilt tranny then I plan to do it again and make a write up. Although it is unreasonable IMO to rebuild one yourself because the kit cost me about $280 and the tools I purchased so far are about $180 (12t press/ beefy snapring pliers / gear puller) and even up to this point it's been a real pita so far.
