Message There is one post from ztuner saying you give up midrange for topend power. Here is a post from greg though. "The 400+ cams work better than stock cams, when the car does not have breather mods. With breather mods the 400+ cams do not seem to add power with the fixed cam timing settings. The 400+ cams come with the exhaust cams advanced 4 degree's, I find pulling this timing out with adjustable sprockets, allows these cams to offer reasonable gains when the set up has breather mods.
If your going to run 400+ cams and breather mods, I highly recommend getting the late model BDE intake sprockets, and the Tomei or Jun adjustable Exhaust cam sprockets."
Now I will admit that I may have confused this topic with higher compression affecting spool but im pretty sure it I read that larger cams increase lag. Greg is the person to ask on this. If he has time hopefully he can chime in.
