Message	Per TireRack.com: "Any repair attempted without removing the tire from the wheel is improper." To the OP, assuming you trust Pep Boys to do something like this, if you join Pep Boys Rewards (free) you get free flat tire repair. They at least use the proper plug/patch others have mentioned.
