Message this flywheel came with the car when purchased so i dont know what brand it is. probably old stillen, jwt or fidanza.

this is the second time i had this type of failure with a alumium flywheel non RPS (my RPS is still kicking ass almost 9 years now) . the frist time i did do the install and torqued to spec.

attention to detail is that it didnt have helicoil inserts for the pressure plate bolts. RPS does:

its my speculation that whoever did the install over torqued the pressure plate(clutch over) bolts. or that some lower quality (pretty much every flywheel but RPS/SZ) just cant take the abuse (high rpm launch with slicks) Its not like disc exploded or the springs popped out of the disc hub, which is ussually the cause. so thats my personal conclusion

but....

maybe its possible that the presure plate came about and the friction pad came uncentered:
i dont think so though cause there was no vibrations of any type before this. It happend stantly going for 2nd gear. as i pulled my foot back of the clutch pedal it instantly exploded. after the bad sounds, it vibrated bad so i shut it off to prevent engine damage.
