| I have been 700rwhp+ for several years now and I just make it customary to source a used trans about every year. If you scour a good conditioned NA one (they generally see less abuse) will run you 200-250 bucks. For the price of a PPG set, thats quite a few transmissions. Additionally, in my experience - trying to shift quickly is whats killed the trans. I have a glovebox stuffed full of 10 second timeslips and I've never "grenaded" a transission, only killed the syncrhos If you want a dedicated "drag strip" car - go with an auto trans but I will warn you it kills the fun factor in the car and sucks up a good amount of power and introduces some additional heat into the cabin. I've had a TH400 in my car and albeit some badass launching at the drag strip, for lack of a better word it sucked ass to drive in every other aspect.
