| I have not seen many people do this, thought I might post up how I did it. Since my Z has a full 8pt cage, I have 5pt harnesses as my restraints and grew tired of having the seat belts still clanking around. I had already planned on replacing my door panels and recovering them with suede so I used this opportunity to "shave" both provisions on the door panel for the seat belt. Started off by peeling all the tweed off. Here's the big piece
Took a piece of heavier cardboard for a backing and hot glued it in place

Next I applied a few layers of "kitty-hair." This stuff works pretty good, but be careful it can get kind of sharp if you don't use a rasp after it sets up to file it down.
This picture didnt turn out well because of relfection, but I simply used a 3" sanding pad on a die grinder and got everything smooth
Suede going on

Used the opportunity while the door panel was off to remove the factory speaker pods and put in some good two-way speakers. Also replaced the faded door handle's
A shot of the interior in...fitted new shift/ebrake boots as well and moved my gauges to the DIN panel with a 300 degree panel.
Door panel - needs cleaned off but it turned out well. I also bought the leather arm rests from interior innovations - easy to install
Only thing left to do is find a suitable way to cover the upper seat belt mount. I am debating on just covering the piece in suede also. I also used kitty-hair on the seat belt area by the arm rest. To keep the door panel secure I kept the seat belt trim piece behind the arm rest I also got rid of my cloth sparco seats and went with some black suede Corbeau's
Wishing everyone enjoyable holidays!
