Message	My Z has done this a couple times. The snap ring on the bottom of the shifter rebuild kit comes off and allows the ball of your shifter to come out the bottom. I realize it sounds ridiculous, but just grab your shifter and pull it up. You have to pull with a little force, but it will likely pop back into place.
