Hi everyone,I'm new here! I'm a class one BMW fanatic since long time now after being interested in Mercs..So I'm far from being a JDM lover..REAL far. Here's the story: I was waiting at a red light behind a 300zx the other day and I don't know why I thought there's something different about it. I went and checked some pictures at home to have a look at the front and I was really impressed! I mean it still doesn't look like BMW or a Merc but it's really a well proportioned car! Now don't get me wrong, I'm the last guy to judge by the looks but this was really something different ( I even hate how the new GTR looks, especially with those cheap looking LEDs fog lights!) So after that I checked if it was RWD, available with a proper manual tranny, performance specs. I didn't like the fact that the top of the line model has two turbos and when I looked at the engine bay I knew that maintenance wont be easy! But I kept digging! Checked out some consumer reviews and then some youtube reviews. After a couple of reviews I was hooked up! I see 350s 370s G35s all the time but I wont even bother test driving those so this is not normal. I currently drive an E39 540i and it's a perfect car..I can't sell it to get a 300zx because I'm still far from being a JDM guy, I just like the 300zx. Plus I still have lots of questions and that's why I came here. I live in Lebanon and I found one for $9900 with 80k km which is about 50k miles..it looks like TT because I read that only TTs have rear wings but I'll make sure that it is and I also hope it's a manual. I have no idea if that's a good price and I wont ever know because this is a super rare car in Lebanon so I can't compare prices! I need to know what I should ask the owner..particular 300zx weak points! Labor is not expensive here but I don't think that there's somebody that has enough experience to be a master on those. But if you do know any Japanese cars that have similar engine compartment let me know..if the 350z is similar it would be perfect so I can check everything. And last but not least, are new parts gonna be expensive? I'm sure I wont find any used parts that is specific for the 300zx so I have to buy them new! Remember I'm not comparing to honda civics..
