when you get an used oil analysis, from blackstone laboratories for example, they look for fuel in the oil (dilution), as it causes excessive wear. it's very common, not highly unlikely at all. a rich mixture has more gas, than what is needed, for combustion and will waste fuel (which is what's happening to YOUR car). it can mess up your spark plugs and also, over time, wash the oil from the cylinder walls causing excessive wear of the engine. either way, not sure why you chimed in if you agree that it's a waste of time, and just to get the ecu chipped for the tt fuel injectors.
