my mother's Z needed an engine because it came without one, so I had the opportunity to buy a JDM TT motor with plans to convert her Z to TT down the road. I got the JDM motor and took the oil pan off to change it (and also welded a oil return nipple for the oil cooler) since it had a nice pallet jack shaped dent on the bottom and I also changed the oil pump spring to the N/A one. I then removed the turbos and plugged the oil feeds on the block with N/A motor oil plugs. So basically what this gave me was a 8.5:1 N/A motor with 370cc injectors... I took the risk of running them with the N/A computer un-tuned. Yes it did waste more gas than normal, yes it is risky and I wouldn't recommend it, no the motor hasn't blown up yet and it's been about a year since I did this, I have since given it to a family member in trade for a regular N/A engine about a month ago since I no longer feel like converting my mom's Z to TT because she had issues keeping the rear end from coming out behind her with a low compression N/A motor=what makes me think she'll be able to handle TT.
