| Im guessing you and fuzzymonkey have manual transmissions correct? What I understand is on automatic Z's that switch under the gas pedal is to put your transmission into a special WOT mode which causes it to rev higher before shifting gears. Its like a proformance mode thats only activated when you go WOT and hit that switch. Similiar to what an ALC (Automatic line controller) does. Now why a manual tranny car would still have the switch installed I dont know. I would think it was more work to install it then just leave it out but that would also make sense why it is not plugged into anything. I discovered this switch once when I was sitting in the car with the engine off "dreaming" of what it would be like after I got my rebuild done lol. I slammed on the gas pedal just having fun and I heard a *CLICK* when I hit the floor with it. Then I started researching. Turns out a lot of cars have this feature. Nissan has also implimented something similiar into the newer Altima's and I am sure many other cars also. Most people dont cram the pedal into the floor very often tho. I drove the car for 2 years before I found the switch.
