Balancing it requires some finesse and special equipment, which is where a lot of rebuilds fall down. While that's mostly a longevity issue it does add a dice roll to how long before the shaft starts walking around. The flat and parallel of mating surfaces in the bearing section could also be an issue given enough torsional stress and heat cycling but that's all speculation without measuring it.
