Just went on my first car club drive. It was through some great mountain roads between Greenville SC and Ashville NC. We ended up on the famous blue ridge parkway, but honestly some of the roads leading to and from the blue ridge were more fun. I had a great time and I think I represented well as the only Z32 in attendance during the sections of "spirited" driving. I think it was the hardest I've ever used my front tires. The light blue car in front of me was a 389ci V8 swap 260Z. He and I were about dead even in acceleration. We went to the 1/8mile drag strip 2 days prior. He ran an 8.3@86 and I ran an 8.25@87 (=about 12.7 1/4mile). I was thrilled to be under 13 seconds (I still think in 1/4mile terms) and happy to keep up with him. 389ci is a lot of engine for such a small car. The car in the lead was a beautiful 240Z still with the L24 (extensively modded though). It was slower in the straights, but great around the corners. All in all, it was a great week for the Z.

By the way, this drive and the drag racing were my first chances to really use my new Labree exhaust, which I'm extremely happy with.
