I have seen it many times at work. We have calibrated pressure gauges, flow meters and regulators galore. Even though the pressure is equal across a system there is always preferential flow. Maybe one of the guys on here with good flow modeling software can draw up an image to help explain it. Turbulence is one of the larger factors.
