Message The batteries in my old Buell as well and in my Z keep having short lifespans due to lack of regular use. 12 to 18 months is all they last. I have been using the traditional lead/acid type.

I just ordered a Li/FePO4 unit for my bike. Price was double the Pb/H2SO4 but weight is an astounding 80% lighter and size 30% smaller.

I was wondering, has anyone on the forum tried this new chemistry in their car battery? Would be ideal to reduce weight and free up some space in the engine compartment.
