I'm getting a new motor installed at the moment. I have to drive it 710 miles from Phoenix back to Texas. If I understand that right I should (my car is an automatic) basically floor it until like 70-80 mph, then let it run normally for a while, floor it again till 70-80, repeat for about 20 miles then change the oil before driving it back to Texas right? (I heard a rumor I should not boost until the engine is broken in as well, but if I use this method I will almost certainly build boost) Anything in particular I should do on the super long drive back? Just cruise or keep hitting it hard in intervals for part of the drive? Thanks Ash, this has been a sticking point for me about my rebuild process. Not sure how to drive it prior to driving it home.
