Message So speaking of brake posts, I saw this set of 14" blue Stoptechs listed a few weeks ago in the classifieds. I didnt have the money at the time to get them but they grabbed my attention. 14" is probably overkill but for the price and color it was hard to turn down. Turned out they were the exact same set I had actually purchased from the previous owner a few years ago. But then his friend (the current seller) decided he wanted to buy them so my payment was refunded and it was not to be. I was upset but it passed.

Genic ended up buying the extra TT I had for sale a few weeks ago so I had some extra cash on hand now. But with Zcon and such I had other things to worry about. But then my brake fiasco happened at zcon and it was kinda of the final straw for me. I loved my Porsche kit and they worked very well for me over the past 8+ years. But I was tired of the hassle of trying to get the Porsche parts. And also the Porsche parts had doubled in price over the years so they were expensive now. Calipers were $300 each new off the self, now they are $600. Rotors doubled as well. Plus I had to go through the hassle of explaining every time that I didnt have a Porsche, what they were off of and on now, finding part numbers and people not wanting to help me because of that. I called the seller from Phoenix and made the deal. Turned out he had never actually used them all this time, they just sat. I sent payment from the hotel room and they arrived shortly after I returned home.

My Porsche set up. I actually have another Porsche set up on my Z track car project. It needed a few small things to make it 100%. So I'll use parts from this and save the rest for spares. So it will live on and still get used.

Rotor difference. The Porsche uses roughly a 12.64" rotor. It has more surface area and uses taller pads than the Stoptech setup.

The 2 rotors and the calipers weighed the same.

The Stoptechs do use smaller pistons compared to the Porsche caliper. I wrote them down but the numbers are out in the garage. But it was a pretty big difference.

I put a coat of silver paint on the worn/rusted caliper bolts to clean things up. The pads that came with the brakes are used but still had good material left. So I threw them in for now to scrub the surface build up of the rotors. I'll be getting some new pads here soon.

Took it for a drive tonight. At first they didnt feel too good. Once I did a break in proceedure and scrubbed the rotors they came to life. They dont have the initial bite my Porsche set up had, but I'm betting thats just a pad difference as they work pretty damn good still.

Rotors look a lot better now.

I had already talked to Coz at Zcon as well about getting a matching rear kit. Need to let things settle for a bit but I deff plan on completing the package.
