a complete rebuild from flywheel to rear drive axles, including a new trans and rebuilt everything else. Total driveline slop in fourth gear was about 1/2" at the outside edge of the rear tire... not very much. Just knocking down the 38 and 40 values in two cells made a big difference smoothing the transitions. If you have slightly excessive driveline slop, then yes, the timing could exaggerate the freeplay.
