Not to drift off topic but for many of you this may be very Z related in fact. Feel free to VTD if this doesn’t interest you, but BradX’s post about seeing his old Z reminded me of something that I always wish I would have done. Rather than thread-jack, I thought I would post this up. My apologies for being a new scrub if someone has brought this up before. Any of you who remember my intro thread from awhile ago will recall that I have owned many cars over the last ten years or so. I have recognized many of you list many of your current and former cars in your post signatures. I’ve read many intro and build threads of people moving from one Z to another. Well, anyway, getting to the point. I always kicked myself for not keeping track of my previous car’s VIN #s, as a way to check and see where they stand today. Some of those cars I missed dearly, and I’ve never had a chance to see any of them again after the sale. I always told myself that I would start writing them down or taking pictures of them but I never did. The whole idea would be to run a Carfax or check on the VIN to see if it was still alive and well. Has anyone ever done this? I’m curious if any interesting or sad stories were around if anyone has. I’ve also read/seen on TV guys who have kept track of the VIN after they sold the car, and ended up tracking it down years later to buy and restore it. If anyone has any stories feel free to share, always been a fascination of mine to find one of my first cars again.
My Corvette from my Senior year in high school. Wonder where it is now?
