| at least in regards to how the stand-alones handle it. For instance on a Haltech, the car would be tuned with 93 octane and then tuned with e85. After that point you would have the two extremes loaded and from there the ECU access's a seperate table that adjusts A/F, Ign, Boost...etc on a gradient. The tuner would then start playing around with some mixes 50/50 and make sure that everything is working as predicted. So if the car was half full of 93 and you topped it off with e85 it would drive just fine. It also automatically adjusts on the fly for differences in ethanol content in E85. Since all e85 isn't created equally...this is a nice / safe feature to have. So...it never switches to a new map....but rather makes real time adjustments to the current one.
