Your telling me that : Over 6 years ago, you purchased a Z1 upgraded ECU and we shipped it to you. You state that "I received a stock ECU with your sticker on it", but you admit that you NEVER actually opened it up. Then you are telling me that this is not 2nd hand info? You then brought the ECU we sent you to Z1 for installation. Later you had engine problems and I think you started dealing with another shop. You mentioned you even went through a second motor. Sounds like a lot of work was done on the car. So eventually you sold the ECU in question. When did you sell it? I suppose you shipped it to someone. Did they open it up as soon as they received it? I would argue that somewhere along the way there is a possibility that the cover of the ECU got mixed up and put on a stock ECU. I don't think you are making this up just for the fun of it, but I do think there is a substantial possibility that you are drawing the wrong conclusions based on the facts. If you babied the car and never pushed it past 5,500 rpm or over-boosted it then it's doubtful that even a stock ECU would have caused an engine failure. It's definitely possible that your engine problem was a result of a long list of other potential factors. Excessive boost or boost Spike for any number of reasons, fuel quality, fuel supply issue, MAF calibration problem, to name a few. Based on the info you have presented I do not think anyone can say that the conclusions you are drawing are 100% certain. It is my opinion that the chance that the ECU covers got mixed up after we initially sold you a legitimate upgraded ECU is greater than the possibility that we sold you a stock ECU with a sticker on it. Your accusations are not facts, they are assumptions. I am confident that there is a lot more to the story, but I’ll never know for sure. Too much water under the bridge since then and not sure why we are discussing it now.
