Maybe a lot of people (like myself) want to get the car running perfect and then move onto the cosmetic stuff? I think it is less involving to repaint the car and even redo the interior than rebuild the motor with everything new on it, new suspension, exhaust and whole drivetrain? At least that's how I am doing it. Just because the paint looks nice it doesn't mean it's a good car. I'd rather start deep and work my way out finishing with cosmetics than begin with it and then screw it up in the process of working on the car.
