Message It is my opinion that when looking for an old car the condition of the unibody is paramount. It the "part" that all the others attach to. This is especially true for cars whose owners have the misfortune to live in an area where salt is used. After that comes the paint. You say "you can always paint a car" but do you know what a rotisserie paint job costs? Anything else has that inescapable "repaired" look. The interior is 3rd. Few of the parts are still available from Nissan. Many tabs crack rendering the part unmountable or rattling if somehow it hangs on with less than all its fasteners.

Last is the mechanical aspect. Nearly all those parts are available and are likely to be worn out in car that is 20 years old and a favorite of youngsters who tend to be hard on cars.
