Message	axial flow and radial flow The ideal insertion is about half of the blade depth inserted into the shroud. If it is inserted too deep, you only have axial flow because the radial flow is inhibited by the shroud. And the the thicker the radiator, the closer the shroud is to the engine, which leaves less room for the air to escape
