Message How many high school kids are swinging that, plus sky high insurance rates on a sportscar and fuel prices on top of whatever else they are doing, all being paid for by their entry level or hourly wage job?

I didnt realize the economy was such a BOOM for young people these days back in the states!

Formula D.....LMFAO, are you fucking serious??
So by your logic Chrysler should rebuild the superbird and Buick the GNX because they will get picked up by NASCAR. Instant sellers right?? Since it is clearly "all aboard" the stupid train, let's just get the cars thrown into the next F&F 7, 8, and 9 movies, a Hanna Montana flick, and maybe some Sponge Bob episodes, and they should fly right off the assembly lines directly into buyers' garages right??

Has everyone lost total upper brain function these days? Am I in the fucking twilight zone??

You are absolutely right about one thing though, kids do want to be like their idols....yet you utterly fail to realize that KIDS DON'T BUY NEW FUCKING CARS, these cars must be sold TODAY, not in 5 years when the kid can afford it. "Kids" can afford the cheapest cheap new cars, or they can afford used cars, the kids who's parents will buy them what ever they want are not going to float an entire model line in the tens of thousand of units that need to be sold from an auto-manufacturer, I hate to break it to you. You are completely retarded if you honestly believe this.

Little history lesson, the 240SX disappeared because it was too goddamn expensive. The prelude disappeared because it was too goddamn expensive. Neither car's performance or amenities warranted the price....$28k during the mid to late 90's when the internet bubble was ballooning and any 20-something with a half-baked dotcom idea could be a millionaire.

Know what cars didn't disappear during the shift away from sportscars? The camaro and mustang. Know why? Because older buyers still had soft spots for the brand PLUS the gearheads really only see one thing many times in this market class....HORSEPOWER.

Gee 28k for a Nissan with 155hp that is kind of well equipped, or 24k for a 275hp Z28 or for the price of the Nissan get the top of the line Z28 SS with 320 hp and fully equipped. NO BRAINER. Guess who lost? Sales figures don't lie. Kids were not buying these cars, not new. You do not target kids in the upper $28k sportscar range. Simple fact.
