I spoke with Brett Dempsey at length about this and it was decided the better option was to just swap in a 4l80e from a Gm donor vehicle. They can hold quite a bit of power and still have an electric overdrive rather than a th400 which if you want an overdrive, Gear Vendors sells them for about 2500.00. The other deciding factor was some of the harness' for the auto nissan trans are no longer made. I had a 4l80e laying around so this was the obvious way to go. The th400 however is a pretty much standalone trans and is pretty simple install once the bellhousing is adapted.
