| The prior installer was clearly a bit of a knucklehead, and instead of installing a quality re-based bulb... Well, you see the results. I'd be very careful trying to extract them - you don't want to damage the housing. On the other hand, it might be worth your time to just get a new set of headlights. What I'd do first though is swap the ballasts left-right, so you can see if the issue follows the ballast, if not - then you know you have a bum bulb. Given that they last ~10 years or more (I got my first set in 04? - still running strong) $140 isnt really a huge expense. Also, as LJZTT indicated above, a properly rebased bulb will give better output than what you have today. I wouldn't buy the cheap chinese stuff, but that's just me. There are plenty of quality ballasts and rebased bulbs available on the market.
