| So this weekend I find a bulb is out on my headlights. These HIDs are likely 10 years old, maybe older, installed by previous owner. I thought they were phillips but the plastic electrical box resting just behind the headlight assembly connected to the cap/plug on the back of the bulbs says Bosch. I am no good when it comes to electrical devices so I have a few lingering questions that I dont see discussed in posts that come up in my search, and general internet is rife with conflicting info. Am I correct in presuming these bulbs cannot simply be switched out for any other manufacturer HID bulbs? Meaning I need to remove the old ones and match them to replacements? Also, what is the deal with installing/removing these? I assumed they were just inserted into place and twisted into the locked/secured position like every other exterior bulb assembly, but these do not seem to want to budge. I even went in there with a shop rag to get extra grip on the back of the bulb assembly and couldn't get them out. Was it common practice to epoxy these things into place 10-15 years ago?
