I started the Winter Project off with a few new parts. I bought a set of GT28r turbos, UAS brace, new A arm bushings, rebuilt my rack, new rack boots, OE tie rods, Sway bar bushings, and from the 12 days of Christmas, a set of BDE motor mounts from. While I had the Hole front support apart, I took a few parts the powder coating shop to get done. I had my lower A arms done, Stillen sway bar and rack core. I bought new set of wheel studs, wheel bearings and front rack bushings. My project soon took on a few other parts. I bought the SRT-8 brackets from Peter for the BBK. It took me a few weeks to get ALL the parts I needed. I was able to complete the BBK with a cost of $880. The small parts with the Biggest price tag were the Caliber bolts from the dealership $40 each. I'm sure I could have found them cheaper else where, but it was faster to drive to the dealership and give them the part number. I went with Z1's Akebono 14.25" rotors. They weren't my First choice, but the money I had Already spent, they would have to do until I got over the CC bills from my First parts list. I bought the Calibers from a guy on ebay. They were Brand New with pads for $300 shipped. I was Very happy with the way the BBK come out. I sent Peter a few pics last week to show him how they turned out. A few of my friends have stopped by and like the way it tuned out. Peter said he's got another 10 sets in the making for those of you that are interested. Between the install of my front rack and BBK, I decided to pull the motor for my New turbos. I went to my neighbour (who is a mechanic and has ALMOST every tool you can imagine) to ask to use his engine lift. He had lent it to a friend of his, so I dropped the motor on the ground and pulled the turbos off. Shawn and his dad stopped by to look at my Silver 2+2 I had for sale. When he saw my engine on the ground he said " that's one way of doing it". Man's got to do, what a Man's got to do. It worked!!!After I was content with Everything that I was doing, I got an email from a friend that had lost his job and had bought a few parts for his Z and needed to sell them. SO, I picked up a set of CZP 2.5" IC pipes. I thought this would go Great with my Throttle bodies that I was waiting on Rob's Z to return back to me :). I have a front mount and had to do so Custom pipe work to get everything to work. I bought a set of 90 degree 2.5" elbows in Red and a set of 16 Tbolt clamps off ebay. My luck the company sent me 2 sets. One in red (witch I paid for) another in Blue. I emailed them about the mix up and they wanted me to pay for the shipping to be returned. I said NO. They never asked for them back. If anyone is interested in making a set of IC pipes for there Z, I still have the blue elbows, let me know and we can work something out. It was now time to install my New throttle bodies that Rob's Z had done. I pulled the upper plenum off the motor to honne it out. It was a fun little side project. I decided that since I had my plenum off that I should look at a few other parts to replace while I had it off. I bought a set of O rings for the balance tube, new set of heat range #7 plugs and plenum gasket form Coz. Here are a few pics I took with my I phone. They aren't the best of pics. My 5 year old dropped my digital camera, so I had to make due. I've been meaning to post sooner, but as you've read, I have been bizy!!! I would like to give a BIG thanks to Everyone that lent me a hand one way or another - Petadakilla Coz Rob's Z Nicelow Z (NOVA) KongZTT GT28RS MD G-Pop shop & any one else I forgot to mention.
