Message Is there a huge difference between having the exhaust reduced down instead of having full 3"?

It going to be with turbos equal to the 3071s.

I'm asking because I'm debating doing an external wastegate setup with custom manifolds putting turbos behind the headlights and I already have a catback and custom mid pipes with a 2.5" reducer for current setup and can reuse very easily. My z is a track car and has no power steering or ac so there should be plent of room.

In case anyone was wondering cause I had a small block in my z, the carb and gas gussling got old quick. Ran smooth but was chowing through gas. Also I figure I work on zs everyday and when people see the v8 its cool but I feel like I should be keeping it in the family and the car would be really impressive giving its wieght and being legally setup for single digit runs at the track. Also, can use cheaper turbos rather than buying a kit and manifolds and ic piping which add up really quick and still need bunch of clamps rather than me making them and welding it all. My z has way more room than a normally setup shell up front.

Anyways, I could talk about what I'm doing with the z all day but just doing some budgeting an seeing if there's any real need to get new catback.
