They were built to be auto-x tires that just barely make the "street tire" cut. When they were new, they were the shit for the exact purpose they were created. They overheated and got fairly slick on track. I don't have any personal experience with daily driving them, but your comment is not nearly the first time I've heard that. The 615K are supposed to be better in the wear department, but performance took a hit because of it. But I have no personal experience on them. The Dunlop Star Specs are supposed to be the new hotness as well.
