Message If you have it before the intercoolers, you're telling the engine it's getting [random number] 180°F air, so that's what it's basing things off of, when it's really getting [random number] 104°F air. You can tune it off whatever temp you want, but it makes much more sense to know what temperature the air actually is right before it goes into the motor.

When I first put my MAP sensor and turbo stuff on the car, I just zip-tied the sensor to the filter so i could be up and running. It worked, sure, but I started to run into trouble in the summer. My standalone has a fixed max temperature cut off, and I would easily hit that pre-intercooler on 100°F+ days. Once I moved it to right before the throttle body, I never had an issue with that again. The AEM might be adjustable, so again, you could tune around it if needed, but why?
