| I wanted to have a hood ding repaired and a front fascia painted. I took my TT to a shop that had been in business about 25 years and does tons of work. When I got the car back, and under the fluorescent lights in my garage, there were at least 4 dozen pits in the hood's clear coat that looked like fish eye. Plus they had forgotten to paint the center panel. When I confronted the owner about the shlock job, he told me they had no way to detect such a problem. Give me a break! IMHO, if I can see these defects under a couple 8' fluorescents in my garage they are probably even more obvious in a spray booth. They did fix the pits in the hood paint satisfactorily, but when the center panel was painted they sprayed right over the chips in it. Also, when I got under the car I found that they had jacked it up using the radiator crossmember. Later, about a 1" dia. area of paint on the fascia lifted and had to be repaired. I don't know if this kind of crap is done out of incompetence, inconsideration or maliciousness, but I hope there is a place in hell for these kind of people.
