As Jason said you need the weight to get off the line, It atleast makes it alot easier. If the car is set-up to launch harder down low/build power down low ect. with spray/gears and all the that goodness you may not have an issue with a light flywheel but with any lag and LW fly it is hard to get a good 60ftI lost .3 or so on my 60's just by going from a 11-12lb UR to the 17lb DXD and still have a lighter unit for playing on the street over stock, Best I pulled with the DXD was a 1.7 UR I could not get under 2.0's even with ET Streets, it just crapped off the line then went. I also tend trust the billet steel more while I am holding it at over 7K+ with my feet right there beside it ;)
