Message	Brass won't gall the aluminum like steel or another piece of aluminum can. SS might work, I've seen this used on OEM and some other applications, my prototype set used SS throttle plates. You don't want to make your plates from a rod unless your saw is AWESOMELY straight and leaves a smooth cut (unlikely). You want to cut them from a sheet of 1.5mm or 1/16".
