| Had a customer bring a project in. Among other things they had tore the oil pan and such off checking some stuff and then the car sat at another shop. They were looking to get it running again. Car had way too many other issues and I ended up buying it as a parts car. I wanted to get the engine running so I could sell it whole. So that meant getting an oil pan back on and sealed up so I could run it. Never had a reason to do this with an engine in the car before, they had always been out of the car and on an engine stand. I bought a 5' section of 1" gas pipe at Home Depot. I had the scrap wood already so I just cut it to the size I wanted. I had to slightly grind on the sides of the engine puller bracket to get the pipe to slide through it. I jacked the motor up, slid the pipe through and lower it back down. Jackstand under the tranny for extra safety and I was good to go. Dropped the crossmember and put on the pan. Hooked everything back up and it runs fine.
