Message I am trying to understand what keeps the Z in the 500-600 hp range on the average builds and what it takes to get up closer to 1000hp.

With forged internals and a good block and a sound build, it seems to be that the only limiting factors are fuel and turbos. Is that it? Is there anything else internally that is overlooked / bypassed on the mild builds but beefed up on the heavy builds (besides the crank)? Different bearings? Custom I/E manifolds? I'm just asking.

I would like to have my Z motor opened up again just one last time or so and then be confident that all I had to do is upgrade fuel system and turbos next time I want to go faster.

Right now I am on the stock fuel pump and 740cc nismo injectors so I know I am bumping up against the limit even for my mild build right now on race gas. So there is obvious room for improvement in fuel and turbos... Is there really any reason besides gossip to be worried about my Weisco pistons and Eagle rods?
