| When I first got my Z the electrodefog worked flawlessly... after a couple years the drivers side stopped working... it actually worked partially. only one tiny section in the corner was defogging.
looks like it burned thru somehow! 
If you see closely the burn thru is actually visable on the main side. 
Side ways view pointing to the burn showing that the main side burn mark is actually from the burn visable on the back side. 
Just showing proof that the mirror frame is detachable here... 
Closer view of the burn. It is fixed now because I replaced the mirror. If yours is toast you can do it too... signs include just looking at the mirror and looking for little brown specs on the mirror side which probably meant that the mirror toasted itself.
