When doing a motor install/conversion, it would seem unusual posted by TriniTT on March 01, 2012 at 02:35 PM |

Was 7 years ago too. Anyway, don't really want to get into the details of the incident, but if you knew what shady mechanic it was and their reputation of negligence, I'd think you would have a different opinion. People take their car to mechanics because they don't how to fix it themselves. There's a certain trust involved. If I were a mechanic and a customer had me swap an auto to a manual and that customer had informed me of a remote start, I would have suggested to him/her to remove it since its 1. dangerous, and 2. illegal and insist on disabling it. Furthermore, the fact that they cut corners and bypassed the safety switch that informs the ECU of clutch engagement points towards negligence. Car shouldn't even of started unless the clutch was engaged.
