Some brands of filter have *absolutely* failed and ruined engines, there is no question.
Add to that the fact that an oil filter doesn't haev to *fail* to cause damage and it becomes even more important.

Oil starvation causes damage to motors, and I don't think anyone will contend that.
An oil filter that isn't capable will absolutely cause that sort of condition in a performance engine.
I don't think anyone here keeps their TT at low RPMs and babies it everywhere, which means that it needs to flow properly even at high RPM, which not all filters can do.

Why are you so adamant about downplaying the role of proper filtration, especially when some are trying to find a replacement for a filter a manufacturer doesn't sell a direct replacement for?

Hell, part of this discussion is the Fram filter as well, which is *known to fail catastrophically.

ps, my comment about heart failure, you apparently read it out of context.
You brought up analyzing the straw, I said you'd better analyze it if it could cause heart failure.
Simply put, oil filters can fail and destroy an engine, your comparison on drinking straws was a ludicrous comparison, I made it relative.
