I think in terms of numbers. I won't even buy parts for my Z that I know won't add value. I still enjoy driving it. If someone gives me a 240sx short shifter, I don't modify it to fit my Z. If someone gives me a set of wheels that don't fit the Z, I don't change the Z to fit, I find wheels to fit the Z properly. The OP is talking about sticking on cheapo ebay fender flares to fit unnecessarily gynormous wheels/tires on a car that won't even utilize the extra tread vs the added tire/wheel combos additional rotational mass. Same goes for the engine. If someone gives me a VR38DETT, I won't act like a 16-year-old with his first honda and hack everything to make it fit, and I won't waste time and resources doing a proper install of it into my Z either because in the end, I'll have tons of money invested in a car that insurance companies claim is worth $2400. It's sheer stupidity in terms of money. Instead, if someone gave me a VR38dett, I'd put it for sale and take advantage of the awesome opportunity to make some money. Same with the pulloffs. If someone was giving me gtr pulloff tires, I'd turn around and sell them and use the money to buy ones that fit properly from the beginning. And the OP does not own a Z requiring 335 drag slicks. I'm not sure why any of this is being overlooked for my predictable negativity.
