Just finished my first engine build, so I am no expert. But I would suggest using more assembly lube, you cant be too careful. I had my machine shop mic the block for me and I bought all my bearings off their measurements. As for the crank spinning - iirc the crank spun extremely easy with a wrench on it... There will be some resistance with turning it by hand. With rods and pistons on and spark plugs removed I could spin the motor pretty easy with a socket, once everything was assembled. Good luck!! Building your own motor is VERY satisfying. Just don't cut corners or you'll regret it!
